It can be used for cooking & salads and is considered by culinary and health experts to be an exceptional 'all round good oil'. Rice, like any other grains has a nutritious storage layer between the husk and the kernel called the bran layer, near the surface of its outer shell. This bran contains the most valuable nutritional components of the rice grain including Vitamin E and phytosterols. High levels of Vitamin E (Tocopherols and Trienols) are retained in the extraction process, along with Gamma Oryzanol, which is a unique plant sterol found only in rice. Plant sterols help protect against oxidation of cholesterol and are thought to be a major dietary factor in the prevention of heart disease. Rice Bran Oil also has a nutritionallu well balanced Essential Fatty Acid (EFA) profile, an ideal balance of mono and poly-unsaturated fatty acids with a moderate level of saturated fatty acids to provide stability.
