The IMHI MBA was created in 1981 as a joint venture between Cornell University's School of Hotel Administration and The ESSEC Business School. Now independent of Cornell, the IMHI MBA is firmly positioned as a leading centre of hospitality excellence in Europe. It prepares future managers to work in functional specialities or senior operational positions of leading international hospitality management organisations such as hotel chains, restaurant chains, contract food services, theme parks, recreational complexes, and allied travel and service companies or to reach the higher levels of management in hotels, resort developments, consulting activities, retirement communities, product sales and entrepreneurial businesses. The MBA is offered either for professionals over 26 who already have three year experience in the hospitality sector or elsewhere and who demonstrate a high level of maturity and motivation; or for younger candidates with less experience who wish to integrate additional professional experience into their study program.
