Leiths School of Food and Wine was established in 1975 to provide professional training for career cooks and short courses for amateurs. With over thirty years experience, Leiths is the ideal place to start your culinary education. The School provides comprehensive theoretical and practical teaching, either qualifying students to enter the industry and begin a rewarding career, or simply to instil a lasting love of food and wine. There is a commitment to classical techniques and methods, but with a fresh and modern approach. Professional courses range from the Leiths Diploma in Food and Wine, completed in six or nine months, to the one month Basic Certificate in Practical Cookery. On qualifying students work in many areas of the trade, including chalets, lodges, restaurants, recipe development and food styling, often finding jobs through the Schools employment agency. Many set up their own catering businesses both in the UK and abroad.
